As One At Ten - Handling Differences - Sunday 29th March 2020

You are invited to join us to be ‘As One at 10’ on Sunday morning... to continue to keep that time set aside to for God in prayer, worship and by opening His word - with the whole church family - but to do so at home, on your own, or wherever you happen to be.

1. In what ways are you unique?
2. Think about someone in the church family, what do you value most about them?
3. Where might we face conflict and disagreement within St Swithin's? What can we learn from this passage about unity in the midst of our differences? (vv. 1, 3, 10).
4. What are some of the ways we can pursue church unity at this time?

• Choose members of the church family, write down their names, draw pictures of them, and then rejoice in our unity amongst our differences. This can be hung somewhere around the house as a reminder to pray for these members of your church family.

B. Light Three Candles:

• 1) THANK God for making you unique, 2) Say SORRY for the times you have failed to love another or accept their differences, 3) PRAY for someone different whom you value in the church of St Swithin’s.

If you would like to do some further reading and study during the week then here are some extra thoughts and passages to help you.

• In Verse 13, Paul says that we should give up our rights, preferences and freedom for the sake of maintaining unity. Are there currently any situations where you may need to allow your love for someone to rule over your rights? (1 Cor 8:13, 10:23; Acts 15)
• B) As you reflect on your uniqueness, what are some of the truths about God that you personally reflect? How have you’ve learnt to become more Christ-like by looking at other people?
