Funerals.Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn
for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 |
Here For YouFirstly, may we express our sympathy on your loss.
Anyone who lives within the parish of Walcot is entitled to have their funeral at St Swithin’s or, if you prefer, one of our clergy would be very happy to conduct the funeral of your loved one at the crematorium.
We know that no two funerals are alike and we will seek to help you remember your loved one in the most fitting and personal way, all within the context of the hope Christ offers us.

Planning a FuneralYour first step is to find a funeral director and express your preference for a funeral at St Swithin’s, or for one of our clergy team to conduct the funeral service at the crematorium. The funeral director will pass your details to us and we will then be in touch at the earliest opportunity. Part of our preparation for the funeral will be to meet with you to find out as much as possible about your loved one.
We will plan with you an appropriate service which may include a personal eulogy, your choice of hymns, and contemporary poetry or music.

Bereavement ServiceWe also hold a Bereavement Service at St Swithin’s each November.
