"Support & Comfort"“We cannot place a high enough importance on safeguarding issues. It is vital that lessons are learned throughout the whole of the Church of England. Every day, the vulnerable come to us for shelter, for support and for comfort. Their trust cannot be taken for granted.”
- Archbishop Justin Welby "The good shepherd rescues, feeds, seeks the lost, binds the injured, strengthens the weak, seeks justice."
- Ezekiel 34:16 |
It MattersThe Church is called to share the good news of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ, and the way we live together as a community is a vital part of that calling. This good news is rooted in welcome—especially for those who are vulnerable—into a community where every person’s value and dignity are honoured, and where those who hold responsibility can be trusted.
Because of this, we take safeguarding extremely seriously. We are committed to preventing abuse and to responding with care, integrity, and transparency whenever concerns arise. Our commitment to the gospel compels us to ensure that our church is a safe place for all. |
Our PolicyWe offer basic safeguarding training (C0 level) for everyone in our church family, because keeping one another safe is a shared responsibility. Those who serve with children, young people, or vulnerable adults also receive additional training to support them in their roles. We follow the Diocese of Bath and Wells’ safeguarding policy, which guides all our practice.
