Come along and invite others as we explore how we journey through loss to hope.
These past 2 years have been hugely challenging for all of us, as we have faced uncertainty and fear, and have found ourselves in unknown territory. There has been so much loss. Sometimes we don’t even recognise our losses or understand why we just feel ‘out of sorts’, and we can carry our losses around with us for many years.
I (Esther Birtwistle) would love to share my journey through loss to hope – which includes walking a pilgrimage, the Camino de Santiago, and how I encountered God on The Way. It’s a journey that was triggered by my husband’s death, a loss that impacted every single area of my life and left me desperate, vulnerable and which led to further loss and trauma. My life and my faith fell apart. My journey has taken me a long time and it is still on-going. I continue to be a pilgrim. But now, I am able to say that loss has shaped me - it no longer defines me. It is in the hard and dark places that I have discovered treasures.
