Hedgemead Park it is a secluded and wonderfully leafy heritage open space opposite church and the Fete will be a wonderful way to meet and get to know our neighbours. "To celebrate the 130th Anniversary of the park’s inauguration, the Friends of Hedgemead Park are organising a family-friendly Summer Fete on Sunday 21st July 2019 at 1-5pm. The fete will feature music from the bandstand with Bath Spa Band, and the Natural Theatre Company will recreate the Victorian opening ceremony with speeches from the day. There will also be displays from Avon Wildlife Trust, the Vegmead Community Group, the Museum of Bath at Work, and information on the history of the Hedgemead Park and the local area. Throughout the afternoon there will be many child-friendly activities for families, including pebble painting, treasure hunt, cupcake decorating, hook-a-duck, noughts & crosses, giant Jenga, etc. Other attractions will include teas, coffees, ice creams, delicious home-made cakes and local produce, and a raffle. If the weather is fine, visitors are invited to bring a picnic. Local parking is restricted, so visitors are strongly encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport." - Richard Wyatt, The Bath Newseum - https://bathnewseum.com/2019/07/02/anniversary-fete/
