On Sunday Tim laid down the challenge to pray this prayer. It's a bold prayer to make at the start of 2019 or even to say every morning. There's no pressure to commit to this! It's totally up to you.
I am no longer my own, but yours.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will;
put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you,
exalted for you, or brought low for you;
let me be full,
let me be empty,
let me have all things,
let me have nothing:
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things
to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours. So be it.
And the covenant now made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
(Prayer by John Wesley)
I’m Fran. I live in Saltford with my husband, Adrian and our dog Barney! We have two children, Becca (21) who is currently in her final year at Worcester University and studying Criminology and Tom (18) who is finishing his first term at Guildford School of Acting where he is studying Theatre Production. We are officially ‘empty-nesters’ and it’s taking some getting used to!
Join us on Christmas Day for an All Age celebration with communion at 10am.
"It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending
near the earth,
To touch their harps of gold:
"Peace on the earth,
goodwill to men
From heavens all gracious King!”
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing."
Join us tonight at 11pm and enter into Christmas day remembering that Christ came to bring peace.
Christmas Eve Nativity
24th December | 4pm
Join us for a fun-fun-filled nativity service on Christmas Eve. Why not come dressed as a shepherd, angel, wise man…
A few of us are planing to carol around the RUH on the 20th December at 6pm. It’ll be a jolly, low-maintenance, tip-up and sing affair to simply bless the patients.
For practical reasons it’s on a first-RSVP, first-sing basis. If you’re keen, let James Collie know and he will send you details details
